Loops 1 - 4: Distance: 13 Kilometers. Climb: 265 metres. Time: 1.5 - 3 hrs.
This trail is a great fun introduction to mountain biking for a wide range of ages and abilities.
There are plenty of fun features including stone steps, rollers, table tops, berms and the occasional jump (optional)
There are short steep climbs and a rough forest descent.
The trail is built in four loops which get progressively longer and more challenging.
The first 3 loops can be used by disabled riders using adaptive mountain bikes.( Please let me know in advance if you will be using an adaptive mountain bike and for more information)
Loop 4 uses a rougher section of private track up to the waterfalls with a barrier to negotiate.

The MinorTaur trail is the Blue graded trail at Coed Y Brenin on the visitor centre side. Its a great trail for anyone reasonably new to mountain biking, or for a new year shake out. Weather will determine if the ride goes ahead. If its truly awful, wet/windy/cold and I feel it would not be safe then I will cancel as soon as we know. Lets cross fingers for dry at least.

Its a dedicated mountain bike trail, but we will cross a couple of very quiet forest roads. Ideally you will need a mountain bike suitable for off road, gravel, uneven trails.

We will stop at the end of each section, just to catch up. Im hoping that because this is the first ride in a while back at Coed Y Brenin that we will be able to have a coffee and cake back at the visitor centre after the ride and get some ideas for the coming year.

There is a cafe on site, however we have to be prepared for the cafe to be closed occasionally - I will try to find out nearer the time. So please bring your own snacks for the ride, water, your own tools if you have them, although I will have some if need be. Please bring a spare inner tube and pump if you have them. Helmets are COMPULSORY on my rides please - we will do a bike/helmet 'M' check at the beginning of the ride to make sure that you and I are happy with the safety of the equipment. There is a bike shop onsite if need be, but please do check your own bike over before turning up so that we don't have to hold up the ride. eg: a bike with no brakes is a no go, helmet with crack/dent is a no go. In terms of weather - be prepared for wet, cold, windy weather and then if the sun shines it will be a lovely surprise!! So, a waterproof jacket, riding gloves, buff, warm layer are a must if possible. If you are reasonably new to MTB please be comfortable in some sports gear and trainers. Do feel free to message me if you are unsure.

We never leave anyone behind and welcome first timers. If you can please give me a heads up if you have never mountain biked before it will allow me to make sure we can tailor the ride to suit. But its all very sociable, friendly and welcoming.
