Free, women-only bike rides led by experienced Breeze Champions. They are a great way to get started in cycling or to improve your skills, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned cyclist.

Car Park of the Red Lion, Lady Lane, Earlswood (6.30pm)
Car Park (Swanshurst School side) at Billesley Tennis Centre off Wheelers Lane
This is the second of what I hope will be a regular opportunity to do a midweek evening ride of 20-30 miles throughout the summer. The intention is to support women preparing for one of the longer sportive/audax rides and possibly even the Birmingham Velo 100 in September who want to build up their speed/stamina.
This week's Stretcher will be approx. 20 miles from the Red Lion Pub in Earlswood. (see below for option of Kings Heath start) We will be riding towards Becketts Farm Shop, Branson’s Cross and on to the halfway point in Tanworth in Arden, entering and exiting by the more gentler undulations! Onwards then to Hockley Heath and Dorridge returning to Earlswood and the Red Lion Pub for a well deserved drink of your choice! The route has a couple of hills to test your stamina - nothing too demanding and they are compensated by a few long flat stretches to test your speed. A mixture of curly country miles and open roads.
We'll be aiming for an average 10-12 mph in the first few rides building up to 12mph plus to include hills as we progress over the summer! A Road or Hybrid bike is essential for this ride and remember to bring a spare inner tube, lights and waterproof may be a good idea as well!
NOTE - If you live near Kings Heath and can do the extra mileage and can make a 6pm start get in touch with Gaye.
