Midweek Meander

Get some fresh air and meet some new people by joining this scenic and fun ride to Flag Fen. Our meeting point is the Key Theatre – the nearest train station is Peterborough approximately 8 mins ride away, or you can park at the Theatre. Once we’ve checked over our bikes and warmed up, we’ll ride out on cycle paths, exploring Peterborough’s countryside and making the most of the lovely views and fresh air.  After stopping at the Cafe where we can get a cake and a cuppa and slice of cake, we’ll retrace our route or carry on to the Millenium Bridge and cross to ride back along the South Bank, through the quiet backstreets of Stanground to get back via cycleways to the Key Theatre.  The choice is yours! If you would prefer to explore Flag Fen the entry fee is £5 per person, which is not charged if you just want to use the Cafe! The route is mostly flat and we’ll ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.  Please note all children under the age of 16 MUST wear a helmet. Please bring some money if you want to buy refreshments. Please look out for other rides in Peterborough throughout spring and summer where we’ll be exploring more of Peterborough and its environs.  The rides will vary and will be suited to the group and where you would like to go!
