Midweek Jaunt

Meeting up in Chester le Street's Riverside Park by the cafe, we'll cycle into Durham where we will skirt the River Wear before climbing up to Old Durham Gardens and onwards via routes 14 and 70 to Pittington. We'll have a cafe stop at Homer Hill Farm before heading back via West Rainton and Great Lumley. This route is a mixture of off road and roads with approx 1100 feet of climbing.

This route is suitable for riders who are confident to cycle on roads, some of which will be busier in short stretches, although we will use cycle lanes/shared paths where available.

Please make sure your bike is in working condition ready for the ride and bring a spare inner tube. Helmets are strongly advised.

When we rode this route last summer it chucked it down - so fingers are crossed we won't have a repeat weather performance! If the weather is poor, we will contact you if we are cancelling the ride by putting a message in the ‘conversation’ tab in the ride. You should receive a notification by email if there is a message. If you have not heard from us we are still riding.
