You don’t have to be the next Bradley Wiggins, but you’ll need to know your way around a bike and be fairly fit to take part in our Challenging rides. If you’re comfortable riding with other people and fancy a fresh challenge, these rides are perfect for you. They start at around twenty miles long, and are paced at between 11 and 12 miles an hour. Join us on this adventurous 25 mile ride and follow in John Betjeman’s (poet) footsteps and discover Metroland. Starting in Sudbury, close to Betjeman’s beloved Brent Valley, the ride ascends Harrow on the Hill (another Betjeman poem), descending into Harrow Weald then out into the countryside up Clamp Hill and along Old Redding, to enjoy views over the Weald and back towards Harrow Hill. Then it’s on through Oxhey Woods and Moor Park, stopping in Northwood, where we will see an iconic suburban road from ‘70s sitcom heaven.  There is so much to see on this ride as well as just stretching your legs on the bike!
