Starting point

Cheshire
WA5 0DT

After leaving Sankey Valley Park, we access the Trans-Pennine Trail and head west for several to Widnes Marina. The group will then cross Widnes/Runcorn Bridge and pass Runcorn Railway Station, where the surrounding streets of Lower Runcorn are used to begin the gentle climb to Runcorn Hill and its Park and the cafe stop.
A quick descent past the Town hall brings us to Lower Runcorn and the Bridgewater Canal Spur towpaths which are then used. This scenic stretch of waterway takes us past Norton Priory and Windmill Hill to our exit point and a roll down through Sandymore towards the village of Moore.
Before the village we leave the road to pass through woodland on pathways that lead to Acton Grange and the traffic-free cycle paths through Arpley Meadows.

A guided, circular route from Bewsey and Dallam Community Hub taking in Widnes and Runcorn. Stunning views of the River Mersey and Mersey Valley.

This route uses the Trans-Pennine Trail until Widnes marina. Dedicated cycle paths are then used to cross the Jubilee Bridge to Runcorn. Quiet roads are then used to the cafe stop and for the descent to Lower Runcorn. Beyond this, we then cycle on the scenic canal towpath and exit at Sandymore on quiet roads towards Moore. We then take woodland paths towards Acton Grange and re-enter Warrington on the TPT and Road to gain Sankey Valley Park back to our start.

A planned cafe stop at Espositos in Runcorn Hill Park and stops can be made along the route if people want to take photographs
