COVID-19 NOTE:
In line with government guidelines at the time of writing, if you are showing any coronavirus symptons, or if you or any of your househole are self-isolating, you should stay at home.
Please ensure you bring a face covering, and a small amount of hand gel for your personal use.
As rules are changing frequently and with little notice, PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE CHECKED YOUR INBOX BEFORE JOINING THE RIDE - as any changes or cancellations will be communicated through the Britsish Cycling system direct to your inbox, and publicized on our facebook page.
This ride is perfect for those who may not have been on a bike for a while, as it is TOTALLY MOTOR TRAFFIC FREE, and runs beside a river, so is also flat. These rides are friendly and social, and with all Breeze rides, no one will be left behind.
This Mellow Yellow beginners/returning to cycling Breeze ride is a supportive steady ride along the River Ancholme on the new walk/cycle path to Broughton Bridge and beyond....along a wide mixed use leisure track with no cars, on a good surface. A hybrid bike would be ideal, as would a mountain bike (if you don’t know what that bike in the shed is, these are the likeliest answers).
Particularly if your bike hasn’t been ridden for a while (but even if it has), please check that your tyres are fully pumped up, your chain moved freely, your brakes work, and your bike is road-worthy. You don’t need special cycle gear, but trousers etc must not be flappy, and any laces must be tucked in.
Once we get to the end of the track, we’ll turn around and come back. Once back in Brigg, there may be the option to join me for a post-ride drink and snack locally.
As ever on a Breeze ride, we recommend you wear a helmet, bring the appropriate inner tubes for your bike, the tools to replace them with (including a pump you know how to use, which fits your bike), a drink and snack for the ride, and cash for the cafe stop.
If you have any specific medical requirements which may be relevant to the ride, please ensure the ride leader is aware of them at the start of the ride – feel free to have a quiet word.
Find us on FB – Breeze Network - North Lincs for women-only rides.
