Starting point

South Yorkshire
S9 1EQ

We really hope this ride inspires you to grab any type of working bike and tennis racket, and then join us for a steady-paced 7-miler. Especially as it’s an otter-ly amazing commute along the Five Weirs to Meadowhall Interchange, before enjoying travelling along Blackburn Valley Cycle Route’s tarmacked section to the all-weather tennis courts in Concord Park.

During our break at Concord Park, there’s an opportunity to enjoy a free social tennis session that’s aimed at beginners, as two all-weather tennis courts are booked. You are most welcome to bring your own balls and rackets, although we have balls and rackets. If you don’t pedal flat pedals, please remember to grab your trainers.

There are benches located outside the all-weather tennis courts, which are sheltered by trees – perfect setting for your picnic while enjoying the bird’s eye view into Woolley Wood (possibly one of the best bluebell woods in the world), “Wonderful Wentworth” and beyond. If you don’t fancy giving the free and social grand slam a go (especially when it’s aimed at beginners experiencing the joys of basic tennis, such as drop feeding, volleying and rallying games), and bringing a picnic, there’s a café 400m from the courts.

We should leave Concord Park at 11.15am.
