May Day Breeze 2024/1

Out of Kinross along Gallowhill Road, along past Finderlie and heading towards the Golf Ball. Here we take the old A977 (now a cycle path) to Balado where we turn along a delightful lane past Balado House and farm returning to Kinross the way we came (but in the opposite direction!)

A nice flat 11 mile route to kickstart 2024 breeze rides. Nothing too steep or challenging at all - a few rolling sections that we can take at an easy pace. Nice countryside with lots of nature to look out for en-route. https://www.strava.com/routes/3124460618122552538

The route is entirely tarmac along mainly very quiet country roads. There is a short section that is a bit gravelly but generally the roads are good quality and suitable for all bike types. A short section is traffic free and a few hundred yards on the cycle path.

No stops planned but we will stop as needed for riders to eat and drink ... and of course take some photos!

Helmets advisable, inner tube that fits your tyre to fix a puncture, any tools specific to your bike, charged battery (if an e-bike), layers of clothes - the evenings can be very chilly, gloves, eye protection, a well maintained bike with tyres pumped up, any snacks or drinks you need for yourself, a showerproof jacket. Please have working front and rear bike lights (fully charged). Bring along any medications you need - inhalers - that type of thing.
