A pleasant route from Maryport to Allonby along one of the newly constructed Sustrans routes, Hadrian’s Cycleway. Traffic free along most of the length of the route; it begins with the Maryport Promenade, a hidden gem in West Cumbria. It then follows the fairways of Maryport Golf club before a flat ride along to Allonby and its delights on the dedicated cycleway.
Return to Maryport is along the same route, so you will either have a head wind going out, or coming back! Either way, an ice-cream will be a nice treat at the turnaround point!
