This is a 24 mile ride starting from Longniddry taking the scenic shared path to Haddington and then along to East Linton (passing Traprain Law and Hailes Castle). We will stop for coffee and head north out of East Linton and take a back road through the beautiful hamlet of Markle heading west to Athelstaneford (birth place of the Saltire), half way up 'pallet hill' and then take the back road including Langley Brae back to Longniddry.
Loads of photo opps!

This is a 24 mile ride from Longniddry to Haddington, along to East Linton and then through the beautiful hamlet of Markle along to Athelstaneford and back to Longniddry. This route is a mix of cycle paths and quieter roads.

The first five miles or so will be on the shared path that runs from Longniddry to Haddington (a wee gem!), then relatively quite roads from there on to East Linton, north to Markle and back to Longniddry. This route is suitable for road bikes. When we are on the paths, we will likely pass walkers, dogs and horses and ponies, maybe tiny humans on balance bikes, so please stay safe and keep other path users safe.

We will stop at East Linton for coffee. Table will be booked at Smeaton or Bostock once numbers confirmed.

Please bring the following with you: Bike in good working order, a helmet, spare inner-tube / puncture repair kit or a means of getting home in the event of a puncture / mechanical, a bike lock if you have one, layers (including a waterproof incase of rain), card or cash payment if you want to buy anything at our café stop. And of course a water bottle or two, some snacks for the picnic, sun screen (we can always hope!) and loads of chat!

We never leave anyone behind
