Magor to Caerleon

We will head out of Magor into the Gwent levels and route around Redwick before heading to Bisthton. Then after a nice flat 5 or so miles, the route starts to get a bit hillier. We head to Underwood and then it's along the busier road up to Langstone before a short downhill stretch on the cycle path to reach the turning to Catsash. From here, we have to climb one medium hill and then another bigger hill. Then it's mostly flat as we ride around the back of the Celtic Manor before we drop downhill into Caerleon and our coffee stop.
After a short break, we retrace our route back out of Caerleon before turning onto Bulmore Road. The road undulates and then we tackle another hill as we go over Catsash and then down to the A48. We cross the road and then it's one final climb to Llanwern. After we cycle through the village, the route undulates back to Redwick and then it's a flat run back to Magor via Llandevenny.

This is an undulating ride covering 3 loops between Magor and Caerleon.

The route is mostly on road using a mix of quiet country lanes and a short section of a sligthly busier road. There are a few sections of traffic free too.

We will stop at the Rich Bean coffee shop in Caerleon for a short break.

Please wear a helmet and bring along some money and a lock for the café stop. It is also a good idea to carry a spare tube just in case.
