Starting point

E15 4BQ

Stratford Old Town Hall, 29 Broadway, Stratford, London E15 4BQ

“The way to get better at riding hills - is to ride more hills!” This ride has a focus on helping to improve climbing ability (and the fast descents) and welcomes all (if need be, there is the option of by-passing some of the more challenging climbs, however, you will still be expected to comfortable ride a distance in excess of 30 miles). Starting from Stratford, the ride heads the long way around towards Epping and ends in Walthamstow, taking in over 600M of climbing along the way. There is expected to be some disparity in climbing ability between everyone and for those who complete the “High Beach Five” quicker than others, they will have the option of further improving their climbing by completing hill repeats of the last climb, while everyone else catches up. At our end point in Walthamstow, there is the option of enjoying a (well deserved!) unlimited buffet breakfast - £7 (+Hot drinks £2; Cold drinks £1.50). No under 12's and under 16's must be accompanied by the adult who has booked them on the ride. Please dress appropriately for the weather on the day. All participants are expected to bring: • A bike in good working order with tyres pumped to the correct pressure. (If in doubt, have it checked over by a local bike shop or qualified mechanic). • Carry at least a spare inner tube, pump and tyre levers. • Dress for the weather. • A drink and energy bar. • Lights if there is any chance of poor visibility.
