This is a Charity Bike ride organised by a British Cycling Ride Leader for Macmillan cancer Support. To register for this ride please go to www.castlesbikeride.co.uk. The route is based on a challenging Skyride that BC and SBC put on a few times between 2014 and 2016. 2017 is the first time a road bike suitable route has been offered on the annual Macmillan Castles Bike Ride. The route follows the Castles Bike ride out from Croft to Broome Manor and Hodson when it then diverges to go through Chisledon and via Draycott Foliat to Ogbourne St George. Take it easy up to this point because the next mile or so will really test as you climb the legendary Snap Hill hitting 17% at its steepest part. Get this over and you have 14 miles of gently undulating riding to get you to Albourne and then back via Coate Water to the start at Croft where you will be treated to a coffee (or tea) and cake or you can purchase ice cream or cold drinks
