Join us for a Sunday ride over to Harrogate, if you don't like brownies Bettys Tearooms is a 2 minute walk with lots of delicious treats or bring your own picnic if you prefer

Choice of 2 start points, if you do not wish to climb Creskeld at the end of the ride, Pool is 23.3 miles

Leaving the car park we head up Old lane to Harrogate road, turning right then left onto Old Pool bank and drop down to Pool, over the river, turning left onto Leathley lane, Leathley then a steady climb up to Braythorn, Beckwithshaw, right onto Otley road, left, past RHS Garden Harlow Carr then right up track through The Pinewood coming out on Harlow Moor road, left, down then right onto Cornwall road past Valley Gardens down to the pump rooms to the roundabout at the Crown hotel, where we dismount for our lunch stop

Leaving the cafe we head over to Esplande making our way to Cold Bath road, straight over at the lights onto Arthurs avenue with Harrogate Grammar School to the left, picking up cycle path that runs along the playing fields of Rossett School coming out opposite Ashville College, left onto Green lane dropping down to Pannal over the railway bridge to the lights, right onto A61 then left, another right onto Drury lane up to John Metcalfe Way, turning right for 0.2 mile then left onto Follifoot lane and onto Kirkby Overblow, here we have the choice of turning right and dropping down Swindon lane or adding 3.3 miles through the hamlets of Clap Gate, Kearby Town End, Chapel Hill, Netherby and Kearby coming out at A61, left then right onto Weeton lane, through Dunkeswick, Weeton, Castley and Pool, round to Arthington lane, then right for the climb up Creskeld lane and return to Bramhope

An undulating ride with a couple of steady climbs and flat sections

Pennies for coffee/lunch/sweet treat - spare inner tube etc
