Alongside the 'Blackbrook Way' cycle path opposite Gorse Covert Community Centre, Maxwell Drive, Loughborough

*** To book a place on this ride, please contact Charnwood Borough Council direct on 01509 63 4673 or [email protected] *** Come along on this free guided family ride from Gorse Covert Community Centre in Loughborough to take a tour of Loughborough’s cycle routes. This ride is mostly on traffic-free cycle paths, with some sections on quiet roads. The route is mostly flat, but there are are a few some short sharp rises. For a map of the route visit http://www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=eughccpkgwfdyosf The ride is suitable for children of any age who can ride confidently under their own steam, or can be carried or towed if under 5. If they’re not used to riding 8 miles, this could be a great way to stretch themselves. The ride will be at a very steady pace and will be led by friendly and encouraging ride leaders who will ensure that no one gets left behind and will support the group on the short sections of road and at road-crossings. The total length of the ride will be 8.0 miles, with a break at the Museum Café in Queens Park. Please bring along some money for snacks and drinks. Meet alongside the ‘Blackbrook Way’ cycle path opposite the Gorse Covert Community Centre – on the south side of the car park. If driving, please find an available space in the car park and take car walking across the car park to the start. We request that children under 5 must be in a BSA approved child seat, trailer or tag-a-long, and that children under 16 wear a helmet. This ride is part of Charnwood Borough Council's Easter holiday activities programme, and another of 15 guided community bike rides taking place in 2014.
