Starting at the ECO Centre at Southport this ride takes in the cycle routes around Sefton. The ride commences along the old Esplanade before joining the Coastal Road (path) then on to the Cheshire Lines cycle route following this until merging with the trans-pennine route at Maghull. The route then follows the canal tow path to Waterloo where we head off towards the waterfront marina. A cake stop at the cafe at the bottom of South Road entrance to the marina. Returning to Southport via Sefton coastal path and the new asparagus trail from Formby to the Squirrel Reserve at Freshfield then continuing on back to the start point at the ECO Centre. This is a flat ride and is in no way tough, challenging only by way of the distance involved.
We'll ride at a steady pace of 11-12 mph on this ride and we'll keep our pace at a level so that we can all stay together & have a really pleasant ride.
Please check your bike over the night before the ride, tyres inflated, all bolts tight, lubricated. Clothing, Helmet & lights checked & ready.
Please aim to be ready to ride 15 mins before the ride start time, getting away on time is good for everyone.
It would be great to have some new & some familiar faces on this ride, you're all welcome & I look forward to riding with you.
I'm a Ride Social Leader - I enjoy my cycling & appreciate it even more when I have people to ride with.
