On Sunday the 6th Sept there is a Big Half run from Tower Bridge to Cutty Sark. Beginning by the Bridge, the runners, about 17000, will run about 7 miles on roads north of the river, then cross the Bridge to complete the run to the finish at Cutty Sark. The roads used are the same as the ones for the full London Marathon, but run in the opposite direction.

Starting 10am at London Bridge (Southwark Gateway Needle) we will ride just the final 6 miles on the south side of the river. Will pick up the runner’s course after 0.6 of a mile at Tower Bridge. Except for a quieter, more scenic stretch of a mile, we will cycle the runners route to Cutty Sark. Will return to London Bridge along the river and through Russia Dock Woodland, All flat roads and a round trip of about 12 miles, about 2 hours. A nice easy social ride to welcome the meteorological Autumn.

Riders of all ages are welcome on Healthy Rides but under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Same for “adults at risk”. Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users feel safe. If you cannot make a ride, please cancel so that someone else can take the place. These rides are part of a regular programme of Saturday rides organised by Southwark Cyclists, more information at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/.

Very easy, flat route suitable for all types of cyclist. Circular route out along the marathon course, back more along the river. Everyone welcome.

Cycleway, paths and quiet streets.

Stop at the finish at Cutty Sark, several other short stops at points of interest.

Just uyourself and your bike.

First-timers welcome!
