10 mile, flat ride with 80% off road on surfaced paths or segregated cycle lanes. Suitable for any type of cyclist, including beginners and families. Start 10am at the Southwark Gateway Needle on the SE side of London Bridge. We expect to finish by 12.30 which should give us time for a short break mid ride.

Route will use the north bank with a slightly inland route going out and the Thameside route coming back. Places of interest on the route include Shadwell Basin, the Yurt Café and St Katherine’s Docks. We will also check whether the foreshore extension of King Edward Park is open. Riders of all ages are welcome on Healthy Rides but under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Same for “adults at risk”. Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users feel safe. If you cannot make a ride, please cancel so that someone else can take the place. Remember things can, and do, happen on bike rides and we sometimes get delayed. It is therefore advised not to schedule anything to immediately follow the expected end time. This ride is part of a regular programme of Saturday rides, more information at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/.
