12 mile flat ride round some of the iconic sites in Central London. Ideal for riders wanting to try riding in a bit of traffic in a group. Great for gaining confidence. Start/finish from the Southwark Gateway Needle at the south end of London Bridge, conveniently close to London Bridge Station if you want to get to the start by surface rail. Route: London Bridge, Cannon Street, Cycleway 3, Parliament Sq, St James's Park (Birdcage Walk), Buck House, Green Park, Hyde Park, (alongside The Serpentine, turn left onto West Carriage Drive, over bridge, left onto South Carriage Drive, past Hyde Park Barracks,) Green Park, Buck House, St James's Park (The Mall), Parliament Sq, Westminster Bridge, Belvedere Road, Upper Ground, London Bridge.
We will keep everyone as safe as possible by observing all the Covid Regulations. We are limiting riders to 15 including leader and assistant to reduce risk of spreading the virus. Still important that we maintain routinely a 2m social distance, never less than 1m. Particularly important to maintain social distancing from other users on shared paths. Always give way to pedestrians and to other cyclists so all path users can maintain 1-2 m and feel safe. Just in case we need them, good idea to bring a face mask. Obviously please do not turn up to this event if you are displaying symptoms of Covid-19.
This is one of the regular Healthy Rides organised by Southwark Cyclists, the local group of the London Cycling Campaign.
