Starting point

Midlothian
EH5 2HF

The ride starts with an easy downhill mile to the 5-way junction at Trinity (you can join us here if you want to shorten your route).

We make our way on the Chancelot path to St Marks Park, then cycleways and back roads will take us safely across Leith Walk and through to Lochend Park. We'll make a loop around the loch before joining the Restalrig Railway path to Leith Links.

We can enjoy a refreshment stop at Leith Croft at just over halfway, before a short section on cobbled streets leads us to the lovely Water of Leith path. We'll return on paths through Victoria Park and back up to 5-ways and Ainslie Park.

Helmets are recommended. Bring method of payment for our cafe stop, a bike lock if you have one and a spare inner tube and pump for your bike.

An easygoing ride to loop around Lochend Loch using much of Edinburgh's path network and cycleways

Mostly tarmac paths and cycleways with a short section on cobbles

We can stop periodically to catch our breath, take photos, enjoy the views and occasional artwork

First-timers welcome!
