A tour of some of Liverpool's finest parks, along Lark Lane, a look at it's two magnificent Cathedrals, a ride through China Town then on to the Pier Head's iconic waterfront, passed the Royal Albert Dock and along the River Mersey promenade. The refreshment stop will be at the new Ryde Cycle Cafe .
Mostly hard surfaced roads, park and cycle paths which are suitable for most bike types. The ride will involve cycling along city centre roads which can be busy at times and where we will ask all participants to be extra vigilant and to take extra care.
We will take our main refreshment break at the new Ryde Cycle Cafe in the busy Baltic Quarter. If further refreshment is needed (or ice cream or comfort break) we can also stop at the cafe/ice cream parlour at Calderstones Park and if needed the cafe at Halewood Triangle.
All riders will be required to wear a helmet and carry spare inner tubes and the means to be able to repair a puncture (assistance will be provided if required). Don't forget some money for the cafe stops and ice cream! Please ensure you carry sun block cream and plenty of fluids.
This is a route that offers something for everyone and there will be plenty of photo opportunity stops along the way. (It wouldn't be a CYCLE:St Helens ride without plenty of photos!) We want everyone to enjoy this very friendly group ride so it will be at a pace to suit all riders in the group and to take account of the weather conditions (usually between 9-11 mph). We will never leave anyone behind!
