This route mainly uses off road tracks utilising the national cycle network (routes 82 and 62); Liverpool Leeds Canal, coastal paths and the disused Cheshire Lines for return journey.

From Walton Park you head west to join the Liverpool Leeds canal and exiti onto Rimrose Valley Country Park.
You will then head toward Crosby Marina and pick up the coastal path heading towards High Town.

Your journey will then head through residential streets towards Altcar Training camp to pick up a path running along side the railway line to Formby; and then use quite residential roads to Formby Golf Club.

You will then follow the dirt tracks through Ainsdale woods and dunes and exit onto the residential streets to Ainsdale Station. Where we will stop at MeCycle for lunch.

The return journey will initially start off through the residential roads of Ainsdale to join the coastal road and onto junction of Formby by Pass; heading along moor road to join the off road path, for a straight run on the Cheshire Lines (disused railway).

Exiting at Sefton Meadows you will pass through an industrial/residential estate following route NCN62 to re-join the Leads Liverpool canal on Wango lane.

Heading east on canal to exit at Melling Road where you will past through the Aintree racecourse to then join Trans Penine Trail at Seeds Lane.

Heading along the TPT you will exit into Walton Park to finish at Lifestyles Walton Centre.
