THIS ROUTE HAS BEEN AMENDED DUE TO THE LIVERPOOL MARATHON. PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGES PRESCRIBED

If you’re fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour.

We start at Riversdale Car Park and meander through the suburban streets of Aigburth to the airport to the gorgeous setting of the River Mersey. From there we cycle the trails to Speke Hall and pass through the gorgeous grounds, embracing the scenery on our way to Hale.

At Hale we admire the beautiful buildings and cycle our way down to Hale Lighthouse, which is now a privately owned building, however the views across the Mersey can be breathed in along with the fresh air.

It's a straight return to Speke Hall, where we'll stop for a bite to eat and a drink. Speke Hall is a rare Tudor Mansion with Victorian interiors and original William Morris wallpaper. More information can be found at http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/speke-hall/
