45miles, 1100ft gently rolling once in Chobham Common. The lanes around Chobham are amongst my favourite routes!

This is a relaxed, steady paced ride. Aiming for a Strava average speed of c.12mph/18-20kph over the distance, we shall normally be cycling along faster c.13-15mph/21-25kph. Own pace on hills, re-grouping at junctions. Not rushing, cycling at pace of the slowest, looking out for each other. No one left behind.

Our route is very pretty! We cycle along the river Thames through Sunbury-On-Thames and Chertsey. We will be using using quieter roads whenever possible, and, as a little treat, a short and rather lovely stretch of traffic-free off path along the river Bourne in Chertsey.

Our café break is at the lovely White Hart in Chobham. It is c.24miles in. It is exceptionally welcoming, they also have a very posh loo (!). We will also stop for rest breaks en route as necessary. Please do not hesitate to give the ride leader(s) a shout whenever you want to stop.

We return via the gorgeous Gracious Pond Road. Along the Wey Navigation, Weybridge, Walton Lane and the river Thames, Walton-On-Thames and Molesey.

Upon arrival on the green at Hampton Court, we will check to see who would like to leave us here, and who would otherwise like return to the Pheasantry.

YOUR BIKE
Must be clean and in excellent working condition. Tyres should be recently pumped up (to 90-100psi). No squeaking (it needs some lube).

What is a "hybrid bike with road tyres"? It is a bike that can go both on roads, and on easy paths/trails with tyres that are NOT knobbly and no wider than 28mm. It may have flat or drop handlebards. Any doubts, please get in touch on this website, or via [email protected]

You do not necessarily need to be using clip-in pedals for this or any Sunday café2café (Little Lanes Breeze) group ride. (However, since life is more fun in clip-in pedals, please do give them a go sometime!)

BRING
2 small or 1 large bottle of water, and a spare snack. Spare inner tube. An very lightweight bike lock to use as a deterrent.
