Lincoln 'Breeze International Womens Day Suffragette Cycle Ride!

You are invited to join us on our Lincoln 'Breeze International Womens Day Suffragette Cycle Ride' where we are celebrating the wonder that is Woman ... on Bicycles! "Let me tell you what I think of bicycling. I think it has done more to emancipate women than anything else in the world. It gives women a feeling of freedom and self-reliance. I stand and rejoice every time I see a woman ride by on a wheel...the picture of free, untrammelled womanhood." ~ Susan B. Anthony Why not dress yourself or your bike up in a Suffragette style, or as one of your Women heroes, to honour those that rode before us and those that will ride after us! Perhaps use the colours chosen by Emmeline Pethick Lawrence because... "Purple...stands for the royal blood that flows in the veins of every suffragette... white stands for purity in private and public life... green is the colour of hope and the emblem of spring" We will meet for an 5PM Start at Brayford Wharf (Where there is a Lincoln HireBike stand for those that don't have their own bikes but want to join in!) Down the far end from the Odeon towards The Barge, & outside Starbucks. This will be a gentle ride with flair, fun and style suitable for any woman regardless of age or bicycle type, taking in some designated Cycle Paths on our way out to the lovely Daisy Made Ice Cream Parlour in Skellingthorpe! Mostly a flat ride there is one little bit of a hill up over a bridge - though we can get off and promenade in style instead of riding up the hill should folks want - there's no shame in that!, Please do come join us and make this a great session of cycling, style and fun.
