An easygoing, scenic ride to the tranquil Levenhall Links where there are some great views and a bird reserve.
From our starting point we head east towards Musselburgh, getting the only section of main road out of the way first, though it's wide and has a cycle lane for most of it. It's usually quiet at this time of day. We leave the road at Fisherrow Harbour taking cycle paths along the coast to cross the Esk at the Electric Bridge. We pass Musselburgh Links (Old Golf Course) before a wide gravel track leads us to Levenhall Links where we can stop for a while to view the birds and enjoy the scenery.

We return to our starting point via Newcraighall, Brunstane Road North and Portobello Promenade.
The route is mostly on tarmac with a short section on a wide gravel track.
There will be lots of opportunities to stop and catch our breath, enjoy the views and take photos. Bring a snack and water for the ride, and money if you want to purchase anything at our cafe stop (or bring your own refreshments).
Please wear clothing appropriate for the weather, have your bike in good order and bring a spare inner tube, pump and any tools needed to remove a wheel should you need to - or a strategy for getting yourself home in the event of a mechanical (eg friend/taxi).
We never leave anyone behind!
