Starting point

Leicestershire
LE67 3FN

Meeting in the car park on London Road next to the council offices we will follow the cycle network Whitwick Road, before turning right on to Albert Road. Turning left at the end we follow the shaded path to Stephenson Way and then follow the main road past Morrisions and McDonalds.

We then turn left on to the industrial estate before rejoining the cycle network to lead us in to Snibston Country Park, the former site of the Snibston Discovery Museum. Currently there are new cycle trails being built along with a visitor centre which should open sometime later this year.

We then head in to the town centre and across the car park to return to the start point.

Please note Social Distancing measures will be in place, and we advise all riders to bring hand sanitiser etc.

Route rating

A 4 mile ride around Coalville which is over 90% traffic free. A nice gentle ride suitable for all riders aged 5 and above.

This route is suitable for most bikes except those with very skinny road tyres. The majority of the ride takes place on well surfaced cycle paths with a short section on gravel.

Due to the current Covid 19 restrictions were are no toilets available along the route and also (sadly) no cafes. We will however stop at any point on the route should anyone need to stop to take a short break.

All riders should dress accordingly for the weather. Please ensure you bring and tools you may require to repair your bike, a puncture repair kit, spare inner tube, snacks and drinks, and anything else you think you may require to enjoy the ride. Please note all riders under the age of 18 will need to wear a helmet and we advise every rider should wear a helmet.

We welcome all abilities and ages of riders.
