Let’s Go – To London's Urban Hill Climb

This month we are doing something a little different.

Let's Go "Steady" Its the last Saturday of the month and once a year a road in North London closes to motor traffic for the only organised time trail of its type in London.
The Urban Hill Climb returns to Swain's Lane in Hampstead for 2024 on Saturday 28th September, bigger and better than ever!

Let’s Go Cycling will not be doing the timed climb, however will be leading a "Steady" social ride over to North London to spectate this major cycling event. This ride sets off from Danson House at 9.30am, On this ride we will be passing many interesting buildings and places of interest. Lot's to see and do along the way. A mixture of cycle ways and some busier roads/junctions please ensure you are a confident cyclist.

This is one of our steady rides due to the distance! Please ensure you have the stamina to cycle around 40 miles. We are likely to be out for most of the day, so be prepared. (bring lights just in case) We will be stopping for refreshments along the way.
Please bring a travel card/money/card just in case.

Suitable for all bike types - Please ensure you can cycle the mileage of this ride.

Please ensure your bike is in a roadworthy condition and that the tyres are fully inflated and you have at least one spare inner-tube and that your seat is at the correct height, also that you are dressed for the weather on the day, and that you have tools suitable for your bike.

All routes have been checked and risk assessed prior to the rides going ahead.

Covid-19 and safety info - Please respect others.
Riders are advised to bring face masks in case there is an incident where wearing a mask would be appropriate, hand sanitiser is also advised. Bring your own tools and equipment should the worst happed, do not touch other riders bikes or equipment, (respect others) don’t attend if you have been told to self-isolate or have covid symptom’s, please Inform the co -ordinator/leader if you develop symptoms and test positive after the ride by emailing: [email protected] Your bike must be in road worthy condition and tyres correctly inflated, you should have at least one spare innertube, and ensure that your seat is at the correct height for your comfort and riding position, and that you are dressed for the weather on the day, please inform the leader in confidence if you are taking any prescribed medication of have any medical conditions as this info will help greatly if first aid is required. Please bring water and any refreshments required for the ride.
