Let’s BREEZE to the SKY RIDE Birmingham

IMPORTANT UPDATE Due to the state of the canal towpaths we are now going to miss some of the bad parts by jointing the canal nearer Birmingham. PLEASE NOTE NEW MEETING PLACE IS YARDLEY WOOD BUS STATION (WE WILL MEET ON THE CANAL BRIDGE NEXT TO IT) YARDLEY WOOD ROAD, WARSTOKE , BIRMINGHAM.  AT 9.15am You should have all been imformed of this via an email from British Cycling. ALSO, PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING YOU OWN SPARE INNER TUBES OR PUNCTURE REPAIR KITS AS THERE ARE LOTS OF BRAMBLES ON THE TOWPATH! AS WE DO NOT CARRY SPARES INNER TUBES FOR PARTICIPANTS.    New to cycling or not been on your bike for a while? This is a perfect opportunity for you to get out, have fun and meet new friends! The plan is to ride into Birmingham town centre for the Sky Ride Event.  We will cycle along the canal towpath  which will take us into the Birmingham University Campus and the start of the Sky Ride Birmingham.  The route is completely traffic free and will take us through the city streets.  There’ll be plenty of things to see and  do.  We can make a day of it and join in the celebrations and stay with us for the return journey or meet with family or friends and make your own way back. The more the merrier on this ride, so tell your friends! We’ll have plenty of stops and we can buy refreshments there!  It's a good idea to bring some water and you may also want to bring a snack.  Dress appropriately for the weather: in cool weather it's good to wear lots of thin layers, so you can add/remove them as needed; a rain jacket is a good idea too!  Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don’t have one please do not to worry you can still take part.  If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.  The more the merrier on this ride, so tell your friends!  We'll even let you bring older children and the men in your life since it's for the Sky ride.   For mre information on where you could join us en route or any queries please call Elaine on 07813 102025 Look forward to seeing you there!
