A steady & fairly flat 20 mile bike ride from Leigh Sports Village using Bridgewater Way canal path, Astley & Chat Moss off road section to Irlam Station

You will be riding on a mixture of paved canal tow-path, tarmac/gravel, off road dirt, compact dolomite & tarmac surfaced roads. Depending on wet weather, there may be puddles, pot holes & some mud on the off road dirt sections.

As this is mostly a flat ride there will be plenty opportunity to stop at Astley Green, Astley Signal Box & Four Lane End before stopping off at Irlam Station for a break, brew & a chat.

HELMETS MUST BE WORN on the ride & wear suitable clothing depending on the weather. Spare inner tubes, patches, tools & bike lock to be carried. Please bring money (cash/card) if you intend to purchase food or drink at the stop.

First-timers welcome!
