Free, women-only bike rides led by experienced Breeze Champions. They are a great way to get started in cycling or to improve your skills, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned cyclist.

Our Mince Pie ride to Rothley will have two starting points: 9am at Bede Park Island and 9.45am at Watermead Park The longer ride will start at 9.00am at Bede Park Island Tesco Express LE2 7HN, and will head towards the Woolly Mammoth car park at Watermead Park. The route will take us through Abbey Park, by the Pumping Station and the National Space Centre and on to the Woolly Mammoth car park in Watermead Park, where we’ll meet up with LIndsey and those wishing to take part in our medium ride. At 9.45am, we’ll all set off from the Woolly Mammoth car park. Our route will take us through Watermead Park and Birstall, and then along cycle paths and roads towards Rothley where we’ll stop at a lovely Garden Centre Cafe for refreshments. Our route back will take us through both Sileby and Cossington Villages as we head back towards Watermead and onto the Woolly Mammoth car park where the medium ride will end. Linda will then continue back to Bede Island with those cycling the longer route. The route is approximately 25 miles if you choose to begin at Bede Island, and around 15 miles if you begin at the Woolly Mammoth car park. The ride will take in parks, cycle paths and roads and will be suitable for all, supported by Breeze Champions Linda and Lindsey. We recommend helmets for adults, but they’re not compulsory. Don’t worry if you don’t have a helmet – why not try a couple of rides and see how you get on? Please remember to bring refreshments /snacks, money, water and a spare inner tube with you.
