Starting point

LE2 7HN

Tesco Express, Bede Park, Western Boulevard, Leicester, LE2 7HN

As the name says, it's a hilly one. Hills are a great way of warming up during the chillier months of the year. We start early so that you will get back home at a reasonable time and can make the most of the rest of the day. Our first hill is Mowmacre Hill, we will then head on out towards Bradgate Park where will ride up Warren Hill, this hill is a long slow one, but with really lovely views once you get to the top. The best part of hills is the descent, so after cycling up Warren Hill, we get to scoot down Shaply Hill, before heading towards Polly Botts Lane where there's an ascent with a fantastic view at the top. Our final hill is Beacon Hill, we then head back to Bradgate Park for some refreshments before heading back to Bede Park. It's a good idea to bring some water, snacks to keep you going and money for if we stop at a cafe. Wearing a helmet is advisable; if you don't have one please do not to worry you can still take part. If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then. We really welcome newcomers to our rides; we will always ride at the pace of the slowest rider so no one is left behind. This ride is suitable for Road Bikes, fast hybrids and electric bikes. Any question please feel free to contact me via the Leicester Women's Velo Website or you will find Leicester Women's Velo and Breeze Network Leicester & Leicestershire on facebook, you can always post a question on these pages. If you are new to these ride, don't worry I always give everyone who has signed up a call for a chat. Look forward to seeing you there. Take Care Susan
