Leicester Women's Velo - Cossington Canal Side

Join me for a fantastic leisurely paced Leicester Women's Velo ride from Watermead Park in Thurmaston to the lovely village of Cossington. We will set off from the Woolly Mammoth car park at Watermead Park and cycle alongside the River Soar and Grand Union Canal, over Birstall Lock Bridge and around King Lear and John Merrick Lakes. Our route will then take us over Wreake Bridge and on to the tea rooms at the Garden Centre in Cossington. After refuelling with a cup of tea and some award winning cake, we'll make our way back to Woolly Mammoth car park at Watermead. This will be a great bike ride for LWV members who want an easy social saunter on a Saturday morning. The route will be mainly off road with just two small sections of roads to cross. If you aren't already a member of LWV, please feel free to come along on the ride to find out more about this new cycling club for women. We recommend helmets for adults, but they are not compulsory. Other items to consider bringing along are a drink to keep you hydrated and a spare inner tube.
