Temple Newsam

If you're fairly confident on your bike and ready to broaden your cycling horizons, our Steady rides are ideal. At a comfortable pace, and possibly with some modest hills along the way, rides take place on mainly quiet roads with plenty of sights along the way. Rides are between 6 and 20 miles long, at a moderate pace of between 7 and 10 miles an hour. Join us on this lovely route starting at the iconic Temple Newsam and making our way to the beautiful Roundhay Park and back. The majority of the route is traffic free with plenty of things to see along the way. Views of open farmlands, nice pond area, rolling hills and woodland paths to name just a few, with plenty of stops along the way at the BMX track and Primrose Valley. There will be time to have some refreshments and a breather at Roundhay Park before we make our way back. Who knew you got get all the way between Temple Newsam and Roundhay Park mainly off-road? Let's go explore! The majority of this route is suitable for all bikes but if you are having second thoughts about a road bike, leave it a home and come on something with fatter tyres. This ride uses part of National Cycle Network (NCN) route 66. To find out more about the NCN and other great places to cycle near you everyday, go to the Sustrans website (http://www.sustrans.org.uk/ncn/map/national-cycle-network).
