Leciester using the Great Central Way

we leave Bitteswell and go down Ashby Lane to Gilmorton, we turn left at Moreton's and go to Ashby Magna, Willoughby Waterleys, Countesthorpe and Blaby. We pick up the Great Central Way and cycle traffic free all the way into the Centre of Leicester, maybe have coffee (or not depending how people feel) We then turn and reverse our route back until we get to Everards Meadows, we go through to Whetstone using the cycle lanes, then back on the road we head past Cambridge Road industrial estate, (it's a bank holiday so the road should be fairly quiet), once in Cosby we turn left go past the Golf Course, go up Shuttlecock Lane, across the main road and head back towards Lutterworth via Dunton Basset

This is a Ladies Only, Road Bike Ride. We will aim to keep to 12/14 mph. However, the Great Central Way may be busy in which case we will be slower. We have a no drop policy so no one will get left behind. I have allowed 3 hrs for the ride, which includes coffee. This is a guide only. This is not a hilly route, however, it is not totally flat and whilst there are no hills, there is a small amount of Ascent.

Lanes that are usually Quieter until we get through Blaby, we will then pick up the Great Central Way. A traffic Free Route all the way to Leicester City Centre. Coming back we come via Whetstone & Cosby. As it is a bank holiday, these roads should be fairly quiet

We will stop for a coffee at some point on the route, either in Leicester or at Jenno's depending on the weather and how people are feeling

Helmets are essential, no helmet no ride No under 16's Road worthy reliable road bike, spare inner tube, tyre levers, bike pump Clothing appropriate for the weather conditions. Money for tea/coffee (and cake!!). water
