The ride series is designed to bring you up from being a newbie to the Learnie trails, to knowing your way around them. Don't worry if you are unsure if you will be capable of each weeks progression, this is something we can talk about to then tailor the series to the group participants.

Week 1 - 3 x Green trail - getting a feel for the bike and trails 3.5km
Week 2 - Muirhead climb, Callachy downhill, Green home 5km
Week 3 - Callachy climb, Callachy downhill, Green home 5km
Week 4 - Muirhead climb, Firthview, Callachy downhill, green home 7.2km
Week 5 - no ride
Week 6 - Callachy climb, Callachy downhill, Muirhead climb, Firthview, Callachy downhill, Green home 10km
Week 7 - Whatever you would like to do, plus the opportunity to try the Orange graded trail.

Learnie Red Rock MTB trail centre is a mix of forest tracks and dedicated trails. The purpose built trails are fantastic fun for all abilities, but especially good for novice and intermediate riders. All the trails we will ride are graded green or blue; everything is rollable with no major features...just smooth, flowy singletrack fun. These sessions are not coaching sessions, but an opportunity for newer or beginner MTB'ers to progress and feel comfortable finding their way around the Learnie trails.

The singletrack trails are completely traffic free, all are graded green or blue or forest road. Green = get a taste for singletrack riding. Blue = singletrack climbing or descending.

We can stop for a break at the viewpoints. At the end of each ride there will be an opportunity to learn a skill that is useful for basic trailside repairs.

Helmets are a must. Warm full finger gloves are preferable. A waterproof jacket and trousers (hopefully not needed) in a small rucksack or waistpack, along with ware and a snack and a spare inner tube that fits your bike. If you are unsure what inner tube you require, please get in touch and I can advise. Dry, warm, comfy clothes are a good idea for the drive home.

We never leave anyone behind
