Last Day of the Olympics - An Iconic Climb to Celebrate! #Olympics

What better way to celebrate the end of the Olympic fortnight than an iconic climb up and around a famous north Welsh landmark! This beautiful ride around Marine Drive is not as challenging as you might imagine, and there are plenty of flats and even downhills as we circumnavigate it. There are lots of places to take a breather, and to take in the views, and everyone can cycle at their own pace on the hillier sections. We'll make sure we regather before the lovely descent, which is one way only so we won't have to contend with traffic heading towards us.

After descending from the Orme we'll head back to the Providero for more well-earned refreshments, and a celebration of our own achievements of cycling the Great Orme! This is where we'll be heading back from, when we are ready, for anyone cycling back to Prestatyn with me.

Please note that Llandudno and Marine Drive are likely to be busy on a Sunday during the school holidays, so please expect to be cycling in traffic.

Helmets are mandatory for this ride, and please bring along tools and a spare inner tube in case of a puncture. It's a good idea to tuck a couple of snacks in to your bag or pocket in case you find your energy dipping, and also please make sure that you bring plenty of liquid to drink as it can be hot and dry on this part of the coastline. Please bring along some warm layers and waterproofs, too, as the weather can be very unpredictable!
