Newbiggen Lane railway path car park Lanchester

Sunday 26th October at 10am Lanchester Loop This is an 18 mile varied ride starting from Lanchester and initially following the Lanchester and Deerness Valley Railway paths for 12 miles to Esh Winning via Langley Park, Broompark, Ushaw Moor. We’ll stop in Esh Winning at The Bus Stop café for some refreshments before taking on the final 6 (hillier) miles by road back to Lanchester. It’s a good choice of ride if you want to give yourself a nice mix of easier railway path riding but with a challenging hill or two to round the ride off. Any bike will be suitable unless you’ve skinny road tyres which won’t be suitable for the railway paths. Please note that the railway path car park on Newbiggen Lane where we will met is in 2 postcode areas DH7 0QE and DH7 0PA. If you are confused and you are using google maps or something similar it is midway between Lee Hill Court and Alderdene. If this car park is full there is plenty of on street parking nearby. Please come suitably dressed for the weather and try to book at least 24 hours before the start of the ride. Don’t forget that the clocks will have gone back the night before (yippee an extra hour in bed). Children need to be competent riders and under 16s must wear a helmet on a Breeze ride. If you want any more information email us at [email protected]. We look forward to riding with you. Audrey and Clare
