This is a nice flat route and a lovely scenic ride. The bike riding can all be done off road for anyone who is new to cycling.

This will be a leisurely ride, where people can chat and stop whenever required to have a drink or take photographs. This is a great route for beginners.

We will be riding along the cycle path from Lancaster up to the aqueduct bridge where we will join Lancaster canal. We will ride along the canal towpath until we get near to Bolton Le Sands and then will join Morecambe Promenade. If we have inexperienced riders there is a cycle path down to the promenade so you would not have to ride on the main road. From here we can return to Lancaster via the cycle path or continue up to Overton and do a longer route back. This will depend on who attends on the day. Otherwise we can cycle to the lovely village of Heysham and back again on the cycle path. This will be a group decision based on the experience of the cyclists on the day and the weather,

We will stop along the way to take photographs and have a drink. Depending on time factors we may stop at a cafe in Morecambe for a snack or coffee. There is a cafe at the meeting point at Salt Ayre which does great food.

We advise all riders to wear a helmet. Bring some money, medications (if required) and a drink with you.

We never leave anyone behind
