Hemlington Recreation Centre

This great two and a half mile family-friendly route circumnavigates Hemlington Lake. The lake and parkland, situated on the southern outskirts of Middlesbrough, is a haven for wildlife, with populations of swans, kingfishers, ducks and water voles. Bring a picnic and make a day of it - the kids will love the park's many amenities, including a great play park where they can let off steam. The route is mostly flat and takes place largely on traffic-free paths, making it ideal for beginners and families with small children.
