This ride is approx 15 miles long however will be at a steady pace to suit the whole group. If you can cycle 5 miles you will be able to manage the pace of this ride for the duration of the ride. The ride is along quiet, scenic country lanes therefore although any bike will be ok, road bikes are better. We will be out for approximately 135 minutes but There will be a coffee stop as well so cycling time will be about 90 minutes. Here is an excerpt from the stockton wheelers website:
Perhaps you have taken part in a 'Breeze' ride and want to step up just a little, without commitment to a club or feared that a club ride would be too far or fast... then worry not because our Glide Rides are just what you need!   Achievable distances at a steady pace on very quiet and scenic country roads, with support from experienced ride leaders, plus a coffee stop for some refreshments, these rides are a perfect stepping stone to our established ladies rides.  So whether you're just new to road cycling or want to ease yourself back in gently after some time off the bike over the winter, this is an ideal ride for you.
WHAT TO BRING:  Make sure you bring a drink, and if you think you need it - a little food. It would be useful to bring a spare inner tube but our ride leaders will carry spares, pumps and repair kits.  If your wheels are not of the quick-release type then an appropriate tool would be good to bring, but again our ride leaders will be carrying tools.  Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather and also some money as there will be a coffee stop.
The ride will be fully supported by members of the Stockton Wheelers and your Breeze leader, Hazel Wright. Further information about the ride can be found on the Stockton Wheelers website, www.stocktonwheelers.org.uk. In the case of really bad weather the ride may be cancelled so please check the Stockton Wheelers website for this or find them on Facebook and updates are placed on their Facebook page as well.
