Kiveton Park Station to Retford

Canal ride from Kiveton Park to Retford and back. Some of the towpath is bumpy!

Mainly off road using Chesterfield Canal, a few lanes and Bridleways through the Osberton and Scofton estates.

Best suited to a MTB as the canal tow path after Worksop is bumpy in places and can be slippy. It requires a lot of concentration - but you might be rewarded with the flash of a Kingfisher. Strava calls one of the segments "Destroyer of Asses".

We will stop for lunch in Retford at either the Wetherspoons (other cafes are available). If needed we can stop for a quick drink / comfort break at Costa in Worksop.

Helmets. Spare inner tubes and the means to repair your bike / puncture etc.. Lock. Money for lunch/stops. Lights in case we're late back.

This is a challenging route so if this is your first time please message first. As the clocks have now changed we will aim to get back to the start before it goes dark.
