From The Leggers Inn we will start out along the Ossett Greenway to Horbury before heading down Green Lane to Pugneys and then to Newmillerdam via Slack Lane and Wood Lane.
Please be aware there are a few hills along the way however nobody will be left behind.

After leaving The Leggers Inn this ride travels along the traffic-free Ossett Greenway and then through Horbury and Pugneys before arriving at Newmillerdam. There is a short steep section on the Ossett Greenway but ‘short’ is the keyword. It is a very pleasant ride but there are hills along the way so please do not underestimate it. The current Met Office forecast for 10:00 on Sunday is suggesting 9°C, cloud and winds gusting up to 21 mph. There could be the odd shower too. Please check the forecast for yourselves on Sunday morning.

We will travel along a combination of greenways and tarmac roads. We will encounter a reasonable amount of traffic on the road sections so riders will need to be confident in those situations. Mountain bikes, hybrids and gravel bikes should be ok on this ride, though there is a short section along a canal bank.

There will be a toilet stop at Pugneys. There may be other short stops to re-group, or to take in points of interest along the route but there are no other scheduled breaks.

Helmets are mandatory on all Kirklees Riders outings. Please bring a spare inner tube suitable for the tyres on the bike you are riding. I would also remind you that this is not a guided ride and that each participant remains responsible for their own actions or omissions at all times.

We never leave anyone behind
