Kirklees Riders - A Tour Of Thornes Park

This Sunday’s ride will start out from Leggers along the Ossett Greenway to Carr Lodge Park in Horbury.
From Horbury will head down Green Lane for the tour of Thornes Park.
After a circuit of the park we will return by the reverse route.

This Sunday’s ride will leave The Leggers Inn and go through Ossett before heading to Wakefield and a tour of Thornes Park. Those of you driving to Leggers need to be aware that there is a 10k run heading through Dewsbury on Sunday morning. I do not know the route but please leave yourselves plenty of time to get to Leggers in the event of traffic congestion.

We will travel along a combination of greenways and tarmac roads. We will encounter a reasonable amount of traffic on the tarmac sections so riders will need to be confident in those situations. All types of bikes (with two wheels or more) should be suitable for this ride though ‘slick’ tyres could struggle in places.

Helmets are mandatory on all Kirklees Riders outings. Please bring a spare inner tube suitable for the tyres on the bike you are riding. Tea/coffee may be taken back at the cafe at Leggers once the ride is complete.
