Starting point

London

We head towards Mill Hill before heading south to Hendon and then across to East Finchley. We pick up the Parkland Walk before reaching Alexandra Park. We take in the views before enjoying the descent through the park. Our largest climb takes us to Highgate with stop for refreshments at the café in Lauderdale House. Our return journey takes us through Parliament Hill, Hampstead, Willesden Green and Wembley.

The route has a variety of riding conditions: quiet roads, cycle paths, parks and some stretches with heavier traffic. There are a couple of challenging hills.

Check your bike before the ride, paying particular attention to the brakes and tyres. Use this guide: https://lcc.org.uk/advice/bike-safety-check/. Bring a spare innertube, a pump and tools to fix a puncture. Dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Bring a drink and snack (or money to purchase).

Speed 8-10mph. Climbing 1275ft.

The time for the ride is a best estimate by the Ride Leader. Sometimes this can be affected by factors such as the weather, mechanical issues, the queue at the cafe, etc. We have a policy of leaving no rider behind so, if anyone is struggling, we will adjust the speed and take rest stops if necessary.
