The Central London Outdoor Group (CLOG) (founded 1937) https://www.clog.org.uk has an easy cycle rides in the countryside nearly every week between March and October ranging from 20 to 35 miles. These are easily accessible by public transport from London and are on quiet roads or cycle paths.

By bike we explore rivers, canals, forts, castles, coast, marshes, gardens, woods, ruins, churches, mansions, cycle-ferries, churchyards, villages, lost railways....

We also do around 20 trips away(weekend or longer) in the UK and abroad every year.

Kent cycle ride Knockholt Dartford

approx 30 mile ride over undulating attractive country ( no big hills ) with drop off points pub lunch or picnic on village green opposite. some off road cycling on Pilgrims Way . not usually muddy. . fast train leaves london bridge 10.04 change Orpington direct train leaves9.55 and both arriving at 10.34 all in zone 6 I believe.
