Come and join our friendly and welcoming group for a great ride to The Jewellery Quarter this Wednesday evening :) Meet : from 7:30pm at Midlands Arts Centre, Cannon Hill Park, Edgbaston B12 9QH (By the tables and seats next to the back doors of the MAC). Set off : 7:45pm. An additional pick up point will be at: University Railway Station B15 2FB (Which we will pass by at around 8pm roughly). Destination: The Red Lion - The Jewellery Quarter http://www.theredlionbirmingham.com/ Soft drinks and real ale are available. Route: 7 miles approximately there from the MAC, via Birmingham Univerisity, Harborne Walkway, Edgbastion Reservoir and a very short section of canal towpath to Hockley. Railway Stations: The destination is very close to the Jewellery Quarter Station and the Jewellery Quarter is close to the city centre for New Street Station if you wish to get a train back. We are also passing University Station on the ride to the destination. Bicycles are carried free of charge on local rail services in the West Midlands and it only costs £2 to get the train after 7pm to most stations in the West Midlands County. It is worth bringing some extra layers of clothing with you as the temperature can drop after sunset and some water proofs in case of rain. It is also worth bringing a bag in case you get warm and need to remove your jacket. We normally stay at the destination until around 10:30 – 11:15pm. We will try and pair you up with a member of the group for your return journey home were possible, as we all live in different directions. It is fine to return back home as soon as we arrive at the destination if you need to be home earlier. Ride leader: Simon of the pushbikes rides team.
