A bespoke route that can be tweaked at a moment’s notice.
We will set off on a small incline up Road end then join the cycle route for a super downhill section with great views down to the Irwell vale station, This a popular spot for photography of the trains.
Next we are off to Ramsbottom on trails and a small road section.
Nuttall park is next which is fabulous.
All aboard….
Then it’s a small road section to Greenmount and Kirklees trail to Bury.
Our return journey can retrace our route or there is an option to shorten by using roads if we need to.
Distance will be 20miles as a min/23 max.

These ELR Explorer routes are cracking. Ever popular 5 years ago throughout stranger times. We cycle along the ever improving cycle routes that run along side the East lancs Railway line. The line is thriving and very busy at this time of year, so expect to hear and see wonderful old steam and diesel trains.

We will mainly use cycle tracks and trails and the odd B road to link them together. Cinder paths and park paths.

There are multiple opportunities to stop snack and toilet break on route as there are toilets and cafes on the way Incuding Nuttal park.

Helmets please, Spares and inner tubes for your bike. Payment for snacks or bring your own. A smile.

We especially welcome newbies!
