Itchen Valley Ride

Join a friendly group to ride from the new Community Bike Hub at St John's House, The Broadway, Winchester;This ride is suitable for women and children aged 10+. We will ride out on quiet roads and cycle paths through the beautiful villages of Easton and Avington, taking in the stunning view of Avington Park and returning to Winchester via Itchen Abbas. The ride is half on quiet country lanes but returning on a busier road where our leaders will make sure the pack is riding safely. The ride is a bit hilly but we ride at the pace of the slowest rider and wait at the top for eveyone to re group and have water. This ride is suitable for those who want to have a go at doing a ride that goes a bit further but is worth it for the views and the tea stop! Wearing a helmet is advisable but not essential; if you don’t have one please do not tworry you can still take part. If you enjoy the bike ride and would like to come again perhaps you could look to buy one then.Please note all children under the age of 16 MUST wear a helmet. It's a good idea to bring some water you may also want to bring a snack. Please bring some money to buy refreshments. Dress appropriately for the weather: in cool weather it's good to wear lots of thin layers, so you can add/remove them as needed; a rain jacket is a good idea too!
